沃拉沃拉大学 offers a limited work program for 学生s on the College Place campus. The university neither assigns nor guarantees 学生s jobs. 而, each 学生 who wishes to be employed is responsible for finding, 得到, 保住一份工作. 学生 may pursue job leads on their own or with the help of 学生就业.


Tips for finding a job 校外

Keep your resume updated and attach it to job applications. Sometimes your resume will show an employer something more that could help you get the job.

学生就业 provides an online application that you can use to apply to multiple positions. Once you submit your application it will be sent to the 学生就业 office and you can then request that it be forwarded to the employer(s) of your choice.

The pay scale for most jobs begins at minimum wage for entering freshmen. Washington State minimum wage for 2022 is $14.49 and is adjusted on January 1, each year.  学生 with advanced skills may be paid more. 也, 学生s who stay in their jobs and whose skill levels increase will normally receive periodic raises.

Estimate how much you can earn as a 学生 employee.

All 学生s working on campus are covered by workers’ compensation but are not covered by unemployment insurance.

All 学生s employed on campus are paid every other week. Payments are electronically deposited directly into a bank account at any U.S. bank, savings and loan association, or credit union of the 学生’s choice. 在大多数情况下, 学生s have instant access to their money through automated teller machines even when banks are closed.

学生 may opt to have a percentage of their net wages (after taxes) applied to their 学生 account.  学生 wishing to have this option should sign the "Voluntary Authorization for 工资 Deduction" form available online or in 学生就业.

学生 registered for 12 or more credit hours generally find 10 to 15 hours to be the maximum they can work per week.
A 学生’s class schedule may affect that 学生’s employment opportunities. Many employers need 学生 workers between 8 a.m. 中午12点. 在一般情况下, 学生s find that having three- to four-hour blocks of time available is ideal for their work schedules.

Federal regulations require that all employees hired present Original documents that establish both their identity and eligibility to work. All 学生s wishing to work on the 沃拉沃拉大学 campus are required to present such documents in order to receive authorization to begin work.
